After years of partying at the premiere clubs on South Beach, Magic City natives Don Flambingo and Sfunk decided it was time to share the local sound with the rest of the world. In late summer 2008, they created TheHouseDepot.net. blog, dedicated to the promotion of South Beach-styled House Music.
With a dope-fresh style like no other, TheHouseDepot.net quickly became an underground sensation. Through word of mouth and an undeniably strong character and quality, "The Depot" soon became a household name. TheHouseDepot.net grew so big, so fast, that it quickly caught the attention of America's largest home improvement retailer, The Home Depot. After a year of litigation, the mega corporation Olympic sponsor bullied Don Flambingo and Sfunk into erasing the brand they had worked so hard to build. Instead of throwing in the towel, Don Flambingo and Sfunk quickly changed domains to TheFreshBeat.com and went back to the drawing board. Endless hours of brainstorming and discussion resulted in the development of a new Joomla (PHP)-powered mega site.
NOW
A year of development later and the next generation of TheFreshBeat.com is finally here. Launched on New Year’s Day 2010, the revolutionary site is unmatched in quality, integration, and style. Many critics have raved that TheFreshBeat.com is simply "Bananas!"
Future Plans from Don Flambingo and Sfunk include launching Fresh Radio (24/7 online radio show), Fresh Gear (clothing line), and Fresh2Def Records (label). To sum it all up: "Big Things Poppin'."
